7 Day Healthy Habits Challenge : Day 1

We’re so excited to have you with us! Developing healthy habits and making changes to your lifestyle can seem overwhelming but don't worry we're here to help!

Becoming the best and healthiest version of yourself is not as difficult as it may seem. It doesn’t mean strict juices or restricted diet plans, but it is more focused on making smart decisions for your body and mind.

One of the easiest ways to do this is by simply reducing the amount of processed sugar you eat and replacing it with whole, nutrient-dense foods, like our Green Detox Smoothie.

 

Smoothie of the Day: Green Detox Smoothie

Green detox smoothie

  • 1 SmoothieBox Green Smoothie Mix
  • 1 cup coconut water 
  • 1 cup kale
  • ½ cup frozen mango
  • ½ frozen banana
  • ⅓ cup greek yogurt, unsweetened
  • ¼ lemon, peeled

     

    Workout of the Day: Simple stretches & 15-30 minute walk

    Did you know walking for as little as 30 minutes a day can burn anywhere from 150 to 200 calories?

    We're kicking off Day One of our 7-Day Healthy Habits Challenge with a simple 15 - 30 minute walk.

    But before you head out the door, fitness instructor Carrie Groff is going to walk you through some basic stretches you can incorporate into your routine.

     

    Lunch: Turkey Chili

    Recipe by The Clean Eating Couple

    Turkey Chili

    Ingredients:

    • 2 lbs ground turkey
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 cup each: minced onion, diced peppers, minced carrots
    • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
    • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
    • 1 tablespoon paprika
    • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
    • 2 teaspoons chili powder
    • 1 teaspoon cumin
    • ½ teaspoon salt 

      Directions:

      1. Heat oil in a pan. Cook turkey over medium-high heat until browned, approximately 10 minutes.
      2. While turkey is browning, chop all vegetables + prepare spices.
      3. Add browned turkey + all ingredients to the crockpot.
      4. Stir all of the ingredients together in the crockpot until thoroughly mixed
      5. Cook on low for 6 hours. Serve over cauliflower rice for a paleo/whole 30 option, or rice for non-paleo/whole 30 eaters!

       

      Dinner: Greek Chicken Zoodles

      Greek Chicken Zoodles

      Ingredients:

      • 1 tablespoon olive oil
      • 1lb chicken breasts, cut into ½ inch cubes
      • ¼ teaspoon pepper
      • ½ teaspoon each: dried oregano, dried thyme, dried basil
      • ⅓ cup kalamata olives, halved
      • ⅓ cup sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil, drained
      • 1 cup marinated artichoke hearts
      • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
      • 1 lb zucchini, spiralized- about 3 medium zucchini

        Directions:

        1. In a pan, heat olive oil. Add in chicken + sauté until brown on edges, approximately 15 minutes.
        2.  Once chicken is cooked, add in spices, olives, sun-dried tomatoes + artichoke hearts. Stir to combine + cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
        3. When ready to eat, add in lemon juice and spiralized zucchini. Toss with the rest of the ingredients and cook until noodles start to soften, approximately 2-3 minutes.
