Green Super Smoothies

Green vegetables are something you either love or you loathe.

But, nobody can deny that they should eat their greens, as part of a balanced diet.

They help provide the essential minerals and nutrients that everyone needs to survive.

So, what if the thought of eating a large bowl of spinach or kale leaves you wracked with fear.

Enter the Green Super Smoothie

This smoothie is the healthiest of all the SmoothieBox creations.

Why?

Because it has the lowest number of carbohydrates and while it looks like a salad, it tastes fresh and tangy.

It is ideal to grab in the morning for a quick breakfast or to supplement a meal at night where you can't face some of your 5-a-day.

Taste

Some SmoothieBox members have described the Green Super Smoothie as “clean, refreshing, healthy,” and, “like a salad, very green, but with a touch of ginger.”

But like anything that is good for you, it might take you a bit of time to get used to it, so stick with it.

The taste definitely grows on you and you can add your own favorite vegetables to change up the taste.

Ingredients

The Green Super Smoothie contains chopped organic spinach, organic avocado, organic pineapple, grass-fed collagen protein, organic lemon juice, organic pineapple juice, water, organic ginger, organic dates, organic flax seed, and sea salt.

Avocados have grown in popularity over the years due to the amount of good fatty acids studies have found in what is actually a fruit, believe it or not.[1][2]

Spinach is packed with both iron and calcium, and you can get a serving of Vitamin C from the avocado, pineapple, and spinach.

How To Make a Green Super Smoothie

1. Open the smoothie packet and add to a blender

2. Add the entire collagen packet. 

3. Add your blending liquid of choice

4. Blend for about a minute or more, depending on the blender you are using.  

The Super Smoothie Green can take longer to blend than other smoothies from SmoothieBox.

We recommend making sure you allow the frozen ingredients to soften for a few minutes before blending.

For the Green Super Smoothie, some of the best blending liquids are water, orange juice, or coconut water.

Some of best foods other SmoothieBox members add-in include frozen pineapple, mango, honey, yogurt, chia seeds, hemp seeds, maca powder, and even MCT oil or matcha green tea powder.

    The taste of ginger is strong, which I like, but I can see why some might prefer it to taste less gingery.

    I've added blueberries and strawberries and it is delicious with those added.
