3 superfoods to add to smoothie

Today we're letting you know about 3 superfoods that you can add to any of our smoothie flavors that will add even more nutrients to your daily smoothie.

These 3 superfoods can be found at your local grocery, health and wellness store, and online.

Chia Seeds: These seeds may be tiny, but they pack a big punch.

One ounce, or about 2 tablespoons, of chia seeds will provide you with the following:

  • Fiber: 11 grams
  • Protein: 4 grams
  • Fat: 9 grams (5 grams of healthy Omega-3s)

In addition to being rich in nutrients, chia seeds are loaded in antioxidants, which helps to protect your cells and fight against heart disease, cancer, and other diseases.

Chia seeds are also rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and protein, making them the perfect addition for someone that doesn't consume a lot of dairy to aide in bone health.

Hemp Seeds: Most commonly referred as hemp hearts, this superfood is actually a nut.

Hemp hearts can be consumed raw, cooked, or roasted, and make the perfect addition to a smoothie.

When you add 1-2 tablespoons of hemp hearts to your smoothie you'll be adding up to:

  • 11 grams of Protein
  • 77% of your Daily Value of Vitamin E
  • 22% of your Daily Value of Iron
  • 75% of your Daily Value of Magnesium

Hemp seeds are also high in fatty acids Omega-6 and Omega-3, which can benefit your skin.

If you struggle with dry or itchy skin, try adding hemp seeds to your daily smoothie and see if you start to notice a difference after a few days.

Turmeric: This earthy superfood is loaded with benefits.

A little will go a long way, so start by adding 1/4 teaspoon to your daily smoothie.

Everyone's taste buds are different, but the flavorful ingredients in your Super Smoothie should mask the turmeric in your smoothie.

Benefits of taking turmeric include:

  • Natural anti-inflammatory
